Cusco, Machu Picchu, Urubamba

Cusco, known as «the navel of the world» for its Quechua meaning, represents the center of the Inca empire. The city of Cusco was not the only one with a sacred character, the Vilcanota or Urubamba valley represents impressive examples of the construction work of the Incas, which have a mystical meaning. The most important cities of the valley are Pisac with its ruins and handicraft market, Yucay, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo with its famous ruins.
