Manu is Peru's largest national park. Due to the different altitudes from 4000 m to 200 m, it includes almost all subtropical ecosystems of the Peruvian east and protects a great variety of plant and animal life, including over 800 bird and 200 mammal species. Animals such as river otters, spectacled bears, rock cocks, harpy eagles, which are difficult to find in other parts of the Peruvian jungle, live undisturbed in their ancestral surroundings.
