Hike in the northern Andes through
impressive landscapes with small rural villages and archaeological sites
belonging to the Chachapoyas culture.
Day 1: Chachapoyas, Karajía, Huaylla Belén
• Drive from Chachapoyas to Cruz Pata.
• Hike to the sarcophagi of Karajía.
• Drive to Huaylla Belén.
• Overnight in Huaylla Belén.
Day 2: from Huaylla Belén to Congón
• 15 km hike to the town of Congón (about 6 hours).
• En route visit to the archaeological site of La Piquilla.
• Overnight in Congon.
Day 3: from Congón to Kuélap
• 20 km on horseback to the highest point of the journey (approximately 7 hours) with the opportunity to enjoy breathtaking views of the cloud forest, fauna and vegetation that this region has to offer.
• From the highest point drive to Kuélap.
• Overnight stay in Kuélap.
Day 4: from Kuélap to Chachapoyas
• Visit to the Kuelap Fortress (approx. 3 hours).
• Take the cable car to Tingo.
• Return to Chachapoyas.
