The fine murals discovered in the archaeological site of Pañamarca have the potential to make us understand more about the collective identity and the aspirations of the pre-Inca Moche civilization, allowing a better understanding of their religious rituals, political life and social hierarchy.
It is estimated that the construction of the Pañamarca architectural complex in the lower valley of Nepeña (Santa province, Ancash region) occurred between the years 550 and 800 AD.
